I’m going to be a bit controversial for a minute here.
Supernatural was never about two brothers.

Exams and tests take up at least 35 days in your year, hence you are only left with 46 days. Taking off approximately 40 days of holidays, you are only left with 6 days. Say you are sick for a minimum of 3 days, you're left with 3 days in the year to study! Let's say you only go out for 2 days... You're left with 1 day! But that 1 day is your birthday! |

So I take it all you guys were just as vocal about being against Operation Trenchcoat right?
Of course they weren’t half as respectful or mature about it. In fact, when you look at their blog it looks very abrasive and borderline violent ESPECIALLY agains the producers and writers. They were very offensive and insulting towards them. The silent majority is at least civil. Not to mention they pathetically resorted to trying to bribe fans. Funny thing is, the writers obviously had no intention of closing out Cas’ story at that point anyway, so it was all totally unnecessary and a waste of time. I really hope you guys were just as opposed to that group as well, I would hate to think there’s that many hypocrites on here.
There is a huge difference between Operation Trenchcoat and the Silent Majority. The Silent Majority was built on something destructive. They are campaigning to take away a character, take away a man’s job, and take away someone from their infant. The Operation Trenchcoat people were asking for a character to stay and for a man to keep his job. Different.

I did research it. And to be a silent majority, you have to be silent and the majority. People calling themselves the silent majority while vocalizing their beliefs is contradictory. And saying that you speak for the majority of the fans is both arrogant and rude. The reason they’re calling themselves the silent majority is quite simple; the phrase evokes sympathy and suggests to the writers these people spam that most of the fandom agrees with their opinion, they’re just keeping quiet. It’s a strategic move, nothing else. And that kind of pisses me off given how inaccurate it is.

Supernatural has never been about two brothers and only two brothers.
It’s always been much deeper than that.
It’s always been about family.
And how, no matter how bad they hurt you, there’s something that always makes you forgive them.
It’s been about growing up.
And making sure your parents know that you have.
It’s about how things aren’t always black and white.
And how dangerous it is to think they are.
It’s about outcasts.
And how someone having different beliefs doesn’t necessarily make them evil.
It’s about how even the twisted can find love.
And even the good experience loss.
It’s about pain.
And repression.
It’s about optimism.
And hope.
Saying that it is just about two brothers, only two brothers, and nothing else, takes away from the many layers that create Supernatural’s beauty and magic.
